Subject: Proposal to appoint a counselor for the students.
Sir,
From the past experience in the teaching profession I, strongly feel that there is urgent need to appoint a counselor for the student community as they are coming to college from different backgrounds and with different attitudes which certainly creates a problems not only in academic environment of the college but also for themselves and punishments like fines etc. does not solve the basic problem of attitude for which counseling by a professional is must as the academic value system makes it obligatory on the part of college and teachers and this will be a real service to the upcoming generation for which we all are accountable.
Initially this counseling should be purely on experimental basis for two years. I f there is positive response then it can be continued otherwise it can be dropped at any time .Details of the proposal are as follows:
Post - counselor
Academic qualifications- M.A. in Psychology [ social or clinical] or Sociology
Nature of appointment – temporary
Salary- To be decided by the authority
Purpose- To provide help, guidance to the students who are
(a) Intelligent
(b) Trouble makers
A regular teacher should be the in-charge.
